We stayed in our RV for one night. The pull through site was fairly level and long enough for our RV and toad. The park has a couple of hiking trails. We only used the bathrooms, not the showers. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

This was our first ever trip in the "camper world". We purchased a new camper and the following weekend we were on the road to Illinois to go hunting. The campground was phenomenal!! I mentioned to my husband that this place has definitely spoiled us for our first ever trip. Bath houses were clean and convenient. The grounds were very well taken care of. Location was perfect!! I wish the weather wouldn't have been so "drizzly" while we were there, because I would have loved to walk the paths. Thank you Dahmer family for making our first ever camping trip amazing!!

Wonderful location, owner super pleasant and recommended a better spot given recent rain. Love the walking trails around the RV park. Great location next to the highway and short drive to Garden of the Gods in Shawnee National Forest. Will definitely go back to try the Tunnel Hill State Trail for biking.

What a beautiful spot in a beautiful place! We loved this campground, the lakes, the paved trails circling the park, and the woods and trees just starting to leaf out. We had a truly enviable location at the top of the hill overlooking the lake and a meadow of spring flowers. The park is right down the road from the Tunnel Hill bike trail. We enjoyed the south segment and its passage over creeks and through wetlands. Also not far from our favorite winery in the area, Clad and Cordon. We'll be back!

The bathrooms are huge and clean!! Our site was so nice looked like they have done a lot of work new rock, new stairs, new picnic table! Staff was super friendly also. If you’re traveling with dogs there is a long walking path that is nice for potty walks! Overall we will definitely be back!

Great location right off the interstate, but road noise is unnoticeable. Our motorhome (2019 Tiffin Phaeton) needed emergency repair, and luckily the campground could accommodate us on the same spot for another week as our RV was undrivable. We were in spot 56 and have late afternoon shade. We really enjoyed walking our dogs on the various trails. Owners are super nice! We will definitely be visiting Shawnee Forest Campground again as we have family nearby.

I stayed at Shawnee RV Camp Forest in Illinois and it’s honestly one of the most beautiful RV parks I’ve ever visited. Gary and Andrea are wonderful owners, genuinely kind and thoughtful people who clearly care about their guests. They went out of their way to add extra gravel rock so I could step out comfortably, and they’re always so courteous and considerate. The restrooms stay spotless, the grounds are stunning, and the whole place just feels peaceful and well-maintained. They’ve truly brought a little piece of heaven to earth here. I can’t recommend it enough. Five stars! P.S If you have a Tesla and need a charge you came to the right place.
